Dear Gary:
The purpose
of this letter is to acknowledge the "Samba" team-building activity
you conducted with the Sprint Multimedia Group on January 19, 1996.
The activity
was creative, enlightening, and provided strong connectivity to our business
environment. Your exercise focused on team results and the important role
that each individual plays toward ensuring success. Unlike
many team-building programs, there were no winners and losers. We were
all on the same winning team together from beginning to end.
As you know,
our employees completed a meeting evaluation form. The following comments
were made relative to your activity.
I
found the activity to be inspirational and strongly connected to what
needs to be done for me to be successful in my job.
The
activity pointed out the diversity within the corporate environment
and how important it is that we recognize each other?s differences.
The
team-building activity clearly reinforced the need to set direction,
allow people time to develop the skills to complete a task, and the
importance of on-going feedback.
While
this exercise was fun and rejuvenating, it allowed us to think about
how important it is to celebrate our accomplishments and to recognize
both teams and individuals for their contributions.
I would also
like to acknowledge your customer focus. As you are aware, this All-Hands
Kickoff Meeting was scheduled during a winter storm in Kansas City, yet
you and your staff went beyond the call of duty to ensure you were here
to successfully introduce this half-day activity to our organization of
470 employees. It is people like you that we enjoy doing business with.
In closing,
I believe this initiative will remain in our employees? minds as we move
towards transforming communications at Sprint.
Sincerely,

Robba L.
