Dear Gary:
Thank you
for the "Synergy Through Samba" session your group facilitated
for us a few weeks ago—I’m still receiving compliments from the folks
who attended. Your team did a terrific job of making us feel comfortable
as we worked our way up the musical learning curve.
I thought
you were able to weave-in the topic areas we laid-out in our needs assessment
discussion (teamwork, change management, diversity, and innovation) in
a subtle and impactful way. The rock game was particularly effective in
experientially covering the issues around change: the suddenness of change,
the need for flexibility, and the different ways people cope with change.
According
to the feedback from the session, people walked away with the insights
we hoped they would gain and more. Comments revolved around creativity,
risk-taking, being open to new ideas, the role of inter-dependency, recognizing
the talents of all layers in the organization, the importance of seeking
out new learning, meeting other members of the team, and working within
the team’s structure while allowing your individuality to shine.
Additionally,
I think we all came away with a renewed sense
of energy simply because it was so much fun! We had a number of people
who were skeptical coming in and who walked out feeling stimulated, confident,
and ready for more.
I’m looking
forward to the enthusiasm we’ll generate at our next quarterly meeting
as we continue our journey to Samba Heaven by playing-back the audio tape
from our session. Thanks again and continued success.
Sincerely,
