One World Music’s Synergy Through Samba program for our global development group was a powerful demonstration of the need to work across three service areas within our organization. It was fun, inspiring and helped to create lasting connections among team members.

At Genenetch, we realize how critical it is to develop the capability for innovative thinking and action throughout an organization. When we were planning an offsite meeting for our Portfolio Product Management group, we wanted a multi-sensory experience that would illustrate the shifts in thought, behavior and skills required to become more innovative and able to take risks. We chose One World Music to provide a customized 90-minute experience — Working in Concert — to bring key concepts to life and integrate material from the first day of our off site.
The result? The experience — a huge milestone in our evolution as a team and an organization — still gives us chills! “Earth shaking” is the term I use to describe it. Frankly, we are all still stunned by the depth of engagement, insight, fun and community created.
I was a bit skeptical beforehand, and didn’t quite believe we could achieve what we did as a unified team in such a short period of time. But seeing is believing. There was a wonderful irony in watching people attempt things they wouldn’t normally do – especially those who otherwise do not interact or tend to isolate themselves at off-sites. By creating just the right environment for open communication and trust, One World Music inspired everyone to visualize the orchestration required for alignment and success. We simply could not have received a clearer illustration of the need to take risks to further innovation as well as the power of people working together in harmony.
Perhaps most important, One World Music’s customized presentation was the perfect fit for our design. By weaving our key messages seamlessly into the program, they created a direct link to tools for innovation and risk-taking.
