Dear Gary:

Thank you for bringing the metaphor of music to our business culture at Eastman Kodak’s Health Imaging Division. Here is what worked well for my business:

1. You captured the building energy of my group which had been developing in our week-long meeting and then transformed it into a team energy packed with accomplishment and feel-good work.

2. All 380 people were engaged thoroughly—surprising themselves with their attachment to the team which your music unfolded.

3. The time you spent with my Human Resource Director gave you instant credibility as you effortlessly, humorously related the musical challenge to every important business and culture change that dominated my meeting agenda. Everyone could feel that you seemed to understand our business issues and human challenges in our efforts to reshape our business.

4. The challenge of engaging 380 people immersed in high-tech at the end of a long day is daunting. The talent of your ensemble and the power of the music immediately connected.

5. The theme of my meeting was "It Takes a Community to Grow a Business." Many of my people never met each other except by phone. Many of my people had historical impressions of more important or less important work. Your music lesson helped illustrate the power of energy, fun, focus, teamwork, and commitment required for personal and business success.

Thanks for helping my business meeting; you were a fun, but integral part of our success. Not a diversion but an energetic partner.

Sincerely,

Wayne D. Langlois
